The author and illustrator
I found myself in the process of a profound change in 1996, and I felt the need to express myself through my oil paintings, where objects were symbols representing the emotional and mental state I was experiencing. From there arose the painting on the cover of this book.
In 2001 I felt a strong and spontaneous desire to put words to some of my paintings. My first book, Messengers From a New World, reflects the continuation of that initial drive. I feel gratification for the contact with my conscience and for having the courage to express this connection that guides me toward self actualization.

through their children
While I wait to meet my friend, the night, I long for its silence to call my dreams…
"Angel of God, my sweet companion,
do not desert me,
neither in darkness nor in light".
Chapter 1 - Inspiration
Maria de los Angeles was born with a strong desire to be an angel. She probably got this from her grandma, who from an early age taught her daily devotion to her Guardian Angel.
Every night the grandmother accompanied little María de los Ángeles to her bed, and, after covering her with a soft, warm blanket, she would ask that they pray together...
"Angel of God, my sweet companion,
do not desert me,
neither in darkness nor in light".
•You should ask your Guardian Angel to explain to you in your dreams how you can become like him and how you two can communicate.
•Do you think it’s true, Grandma? Do you think my name is like his? Do you think because my name is Maria de los Angeles that some day I will become an angel?
That was the conversation that the girl and her grandmother had nearly every night before going to sleep.
•To make a wish come true, you should imagine it with all your heart. It is not so simple. You must have a strong will and be in touch with your own world. Only then, reaching that state, things can be achieved and your dreams will come true.
•You know what? It’s true what you say Grandma. I want it so much that I'm starting to feel a small silent world filled with love inside of me. It's a great relief to my sadness.
•Sadness? But, what sadness?
•Yes, Grandma. There is sorrow and sadness in my heart. There is loneliness inside of me, and I feel it is my fault.
•Fault? Fault for what, my darling?
•For not having the love and attention of my parents. I feel a lot of pain because there is no love for me.
•Don’t say that, my little angel, they love you but they don’t take the time to show it to you.
•I don’t see it that way, grandma. From now on, every night before going to sleep, I will ask my Guardian Angel to teach me how to be happy and to have friends.
And so the days passed and every night little Maria de los Angeles listened to the encouraging words of her grandmother. Her company there, beside her bed, gave her the relief and warmth she wished to have from her parents, but which she couldn’t find. That enormous desire to know her angel, to talk to him and submerge herself into a different world, full of surprises, increasingly grew in the heart of the girl.
