My Super-Awesome Vacation to Planet Earth. Steve Ferris

      Before school break, I had never been away from our world. All I had ever known was our blue ground and purple sky. I knew there were many other planets out in the universe, but only saw them in pictures. Many nights I would look at the night sky and try to imagine visiting all the worlds out there in space.

      When I came home from the last day of school, my mom and dad were waiting for me, and they looked very excited about something. Dad surprised me and told me that we were going on a family vacation to another planet! I was so happy. I could hardly wait.

      The next day, we packed everything we would need. I knew that most planets were light-years away from us and that the trip could take a very long time, so I packed almost every toy, game, and book I had for the ride. Finally we lifted off. We were on our way across space!
