      Self

      You Are

      so

      Just Be

      and

      Live Your Journey

      Dance of Nature

      Leaves flutter, floating adrift

descending to find their place on the ground

To the observer, a beautiful gift

witnessing autumn's dance, pure and profound

As their russet hues reflect in the sky

      a final performance takes place

Like lovers preparing to say goodbye

the end of their time, they now face

With rhythm and motion they appear intertwined

aware their fate has been sealed

As one they continue with moves so refined

for to nature's rules, they must yield

It's their one and only dance, and they shimmy and they sway

in tune with the breath of the breeze

Together they will fall, and together they will lay

beneath the expanse of the trees

When You Are Missing From Me

When you are missing from me

my world is not the same

The sun is not as bright

      until someone mentions your name

When you are missing from me

silent are the birds that fly

      Dull are the glistening stars

      that illuminate the night sky

When you are missing from me

      my smile is a facade

It hides my loneliness from all

so as not to let down my guard

It's a secret that we keep, a journey that's ours alone

hidden from the others, our future still unknown

      So...

When you are missing from me

I must miss you on my own

I'm never at my best that way

      when feelings can't be shown

As You Move About The Bay

Oh tiny grains of sand do tell, where do you go at night?

Do you drift across the ocean floor, until the early morning light?

Does the moonlight glow affect you, as you move about the bay?

Does the ebb and flow of life, trouble you throughout the day?

Are you at peace when on the shore, or moving with the tide?

When are you at your happiest, when have you often cried?

In you, I see myself, trying to find my way

Never knowing how to get, to where I'm going every day

To me you bring great comfort, a place for me to lay

a place for some reflection, a place for me to play

You hold so many secrets, such beauty you do hide

Treasures lay beneath you, from places far and wide

You are always a constant, in a transient kind of way

Oh how I love to see you, as you move about the bay

      Soliloquy

Soliloquy - what a wonderful word!

Such a shame it is rarely seen nor heard

Are our lives so busy, we have no time to wonder,

nor to stay up late with our thoughts to ponder?

Or to speak out loud and question events,

or rant and rave with feelings intense?

We've many questions to ask, and quandaries to muse,

issues to deliberate that often confuse

Jot down your thoughts, explore the written word,

from the thought provoking, to the seriously absurd

Express your ideas and shout loud your story

Use our sweet language in all of its glory

Don't bother with texts, tweets, or messages short

no abbreviations can ever fully report

The message you have and want to share

should be told in full, with no words to spare

If no one is listening, speak anyway

Answer yourself, for you have much to say
