       Chapter One THIS DIET IS EASY

      We’ve been there a thousand times – battling away at a diet we hate, feeling starving and fed up with eating crazy food combinations only to get to the end of the week and find that all that effort and misery has been in vain when we look at the dreaded scales and see a very disappointing result! Sound familiar?

      Thank goodness we’ve found you! At last we can share with you what we and thousands of GL devotees have discovered – everything you could ever want from a diet and more!

      Why is GL Different?

       It’s easy peasy

      No counting, measuring or weighing! No getting up at dawn to start scrubbing, peeling, dicing and juicing weird fruit and veg concoctions (thank goodness!).

       You can drop a dress/clothes size in a week or a month

      It’s entirely up to you how you use the diet, so you can lose weight as quickly or as slowly as you want. This is not a race but a permanent lifestyle change. How healthy you are on the inside is just as important as what you look like on the outside.

       It’s so flexible you can be as saintly or as devilish as you like

      Of course, the more devilish you are the longer it will take to shift the weight, but fear not – you will lose it. You’ll never have to avoid social occasions like the plague because you can’t eat anything but cabbage or strange beans. The GL Diet allows for socializing because it’s based on real life, real food and real people!

       You can ‘cheat’ without guilt

      In fact, we positively recommend a cheat or treat every now and then. We all live in the real world with temptation at every turn so we simply face up to it before we indulge, make sure we enjoy it and then not use it as an excuse to give up. This is THE most important thing!

      We’ll never ask you to do anything we haven’t done ourselves! In short, we understand what you are going through and how you got here in the first place.

      We hate feeling hungry. Starving ourselves and feeling miserable is a recipe for disaster: it’s bad for you mentally and physically and never works in the long run.

      GL is based on science (there are loads of research references later in the book if you’d like to know more), not hype.

      The GL Diet is something you can follow forever. It’s not just another ‘quick fix’ that will fail and keep you on the yo-yo diet treadmill. If you just want to drop a dress/clothes size for a holiday or special event then that’s fine, but you can also take things more steadily if you have a lot of weight to lose or are looking to really change your eating habits to improve your health.
