“Hey thanks. I was looking for that. Go and have a look in the closet. There’s a summer frock in there that I reckon would fit you nicely.”
“What colour is it?” Mila asked, walking towards the closet.
“It’s coral.”
“Hmmmm,” Mila said lifting her right eyebrow.
“On the right hand side. It’s cute, it’s just too tight for me at the moment.”
Mila sifted through the coat hangers and when she found it she was impressed. “Ohhhh, I likey! I likey a lot!”
“Try it on you hot lil biscuit.”
Mila didn’t need to be convinced, she slipped out of the baggy selection of clothes she just had on and pulled on the strapless coral frock over her head and zipped up the side. It fit her perfectly.
“Oh that’s lovely on you,” Kylie said.
“Yeah I really like it” Mila said swishing the above-knee-length hem around in front of the mirror. “I’m done, I’ll wear this and the shoes I came over in. Where did you buy this?”
“Last time I went to Melbourne in a boutique somewhere in Richmond, Bridge Road I think.”
“Oh, I’ve never been to Melbourne,” Mila said.
“OMG, we have to fix that! Put that on your To Do list. You, me, Melbourne, together!”
“Righto. What about you? What are you going to wear?” Mila said walking back to the closet to flick through the remaining frocks.
“Ahhhhh, not sure but I haven’t given up hope yet. I feel like I’m in between sizes, too big for some, too small for others and the ones that have a bit of room left over actually make me look fatter than I am, and that is not accep-table,” Kylie said.
“Who are you? Goldifrocks?”
“Ha ha!” Kylie said looking up and laughing.
“What about this one?” Mila said pulling out a white cotton dress with short lace sleeves and holding it out for Kylie to see. “This is really cute and is a wrap around style so it will compliment your figure no matter what. Holy shit, this still has the tag on it. Haven’t you ever worn this before?”
“Oh yeah, I forgot I owned that frock. No, I don’t think I have ever worn that. Bonus! I’ll try it on.” Kylie walked over and positioned the doors of her wardrobe to keep her from being seen by Mila.
“Bit shy Kyle’s?” Mila asked.
“Yeah, I’m not used to getting undressed around others. Sorry. No offence. I’m doing this so I don’t scare you!”
“I went to boarding school, nothing could scare me when it comes to nudity and being seen in underwear. Plus I have a sister.”
“True. Yeah, I don’t have a sister. I have two brothers and we didn’t get naked in front of each other after I was about six.”
“Oh well, don’t ever feel bad about it. I’ve just always been a swimmer while at school or around the beach or pool in a bikini all summer so it’s second nature to me.”
“Half your luck. I reckon if I hung out in a bikini more I’d be stricter with myself with regards to maintaining a regular weight!”
“Yeah, it does help I guess. Exercise is the main thing though, and we’re both exercising with Outrigging. Have you noticed that it’s making a difference to your fitness levels?” Mila asked.
“Definitely my cardio level of fitness is better but I still need to do a bit more, ride my bike more, mix it up a bit. I know what I have to do to get fit, I’m just enjoying socialising at the moment! And hanging out with you!”
“Yeah, I know what you mean. It’s like we’ve just started dating and can’t do a thing without each other at the moment. People will think we’re having a fromance!” Mila said.
“A what?”
“Like a female on female romance, two frauliens!”
“Mmmmm. I think there are other words for that. We might have to go and live across the road if we’re going to be Lesbians.”
“Isn’t the bottle shop across the road? Why would we live there?”
