“What?” Derek whispered. “Tell me.”
Alyssa’s throat was too tight to release the words.
Still staring at her intently, Derek encircled her wrist with his fingers, pressing his thumb to her pulse point. “Never mind,” he murmured. “I can feel it.”

“Why?”
