A Note from the Author
We all have events in our lives that make impressions upon us. For as far back as I can remember my life and emotions have been somewhat of a rollercoaster for me. Then in February 2009, at a point when I was at one of the lows in that emotional ride, something started happening. Words of expressions started taking shape in my mind and they seemed to feel a need to be put down on paper. This book is a collection of my observations and interpretations of some of the physical events that I have encountered in my life since that time. Also included are my feelings with regards to some of the emotional events that have taken place as well. Hopefully you will see, feel, and understand the emotional roller coaster that life can present to a person.
If my grammar is not perfect, I apologize in advance. The poems in my book were written by me and I am someone who has not been accustomed to writing, especially poetry. They are here on these pages as they were written at the moment that I saw, heard, or felt something that my mind found a need to respond to the stimuli that it had received. My experiences of the awe of nature, the joy of everyday happenings, the beauty of happiness, and the pain of hurt and sorrow are included in these writings.
Here is hoping that you will follow me on my life’s journey so far, enjoying and understanding the trip…
Blue Lights in the Night Sky
Bridge of blue lights over the water
Connecting one side of the river to the other.
Blue lights in the night sky
Water flows reflectively by.
Water taxi moves to and fro
Under the bridge of blue lights it does go.
Over the river travelers pass by
Amongst the blue lights in the night sky.

Christy Cat's Eyes
Through leaves of green
They observe me.
Both knowingly and with questions.
What does life hold for we?
Is it safe?
Her life is in my hands
Her trust she gives to me.
With her piercing green eyes
Among the leaves of green.
What does she really see?

Turtle Walk
Slowly it walks.
A journey that seems
To never end.
A life in slow motion,
While everything races by.
Oh how it sometimes
Wishes that it could fly.
A turtle in flight,
Now that would be a sight.

Dewy Web
Sunlight glistens on its wet surface.
Beautiful, intricate weaving by one so small
Hides a trap for unsuspecting prey
That is a work of art on display.
The beauty of the dewy spider web
In the early morning sun.
Another day has begun.

Sunset Porch
Day is near its end
Autos pass by around the bend.
Rushing to get home
Before another day is gone.
Oranges, yellows, purples, and pinks
Are some of the colors as the sun sinks.
We have all done our best
As another day is put to rest.

Sad Day
A day of sadness
A day of woe.
Why did so many have to go?
Flying high in four planes
Different destinations they were bound.
But three ended in buildings
And one in the ground.
They left this earth
They left us all here.
Families and friends miss the ones so dear.
When we meet them in heaven
Hopefully all will become clear.
Until then, they watch from above,
They watch over the ones that they love.
