CBSD is submitting the novel to the ABA New Voices Committee. Akashic will submit to B&N Discover Program. The author will be very active in book promotion, including visits to schools and library programs in addition to book festivals and YA book club visits. Publicize to major dailies, weeklies, literary publications, alternative publications. Major radio and television push. Submission to appropriate YA Book Awards. Akashic will feature at 2015 ALAs and BEA. Akashic's promotion will have a strong social media component; the author's agent at Donadio & Olson is particularly active on social media and will be a great support and adviser to both Akashic & the author. The author is creating her own website in addition to setting up author accounts on Amazon.com, Goodreads, and Library Thing. The author has been involved in many writing groups/workshops, including Tom Spanbauer's Dangerous Writing group and also studied with Ursula le Guin. She has already begun outreach to fellow authors for advance blurbs and support. Tom Spanbauer and Miriam Gershow have committed to blurbs.
