we find the entity lived in that period when there were those in the land of the inter-between, or that between the lands then of Eden—that was between the Euphrates, or where the Red Sea, the Dead Sea now occupy—was the entity’s dwelling land.

There we find the entity was an associate and a companion of one Tubal-Cain, the first of the sons that had been made perfect to become an associate with those of other activities in the earth.

The entity withdrew, and made for those activities that brought about that which is the cry of those that are wounded in body, wounded in spirit, wounded in soul.

Then in the name (as would be called) Su-Su-Lu, though it was a trying and a testing experience, the entity gained. For the entity made overtures to those of the daughters of Eve (in person—that Eve of the garden, that Eve who made for the activities). Though the entity then was the seventh, tenth generations, it made overtures in person—in the age at those periods.

In the present experience we will find the entity seeking the association, desiring the association of those much its elder. Not that the periods of its own childhood, not that the periods of the recreation and all developments are not a portion of it, but periods when the tales, the counsels, the imaginations of those of elderly years are sought by the entity.

Do not forbid, but do direct.

       1179-2

Cain’s progeny also appear in a reading for a young boy, thirteen years old, an invalid since birth. He was told his condition was karmic and originated during the time of Lamech (Genesis 4:19-24) The reading closes with an indication of the harmful effects the descendants of Cain had upon this entity. Truly was this the line that caused God “to repent that man was made.” (Genesis 6:6)

. . . we find the entity was in the period when there were those changes in the sons of Tubal-Cain, when Lamech made for those choices of the first beginnings of when man as man partook of those things that made for the multiplicity, or when polygamy began among those peoples. [Genesis 4:19] This brought to the entity during the experience that of disorder, disturbance, the unfavorable expressions of many about the entity; and bringing those experiences that have builded for disorders in the experience.

       693-3

Lamech’s actions can be viewed as a continuation of the effects from the negative spirit manifested in Cain.

       Adam Reincarnated: Enoch

And Enoch walked with God, and he was not for God took him. As [were] many of those in those first years, in this land, this experience.

       364-10

Enoch is also one of the incarnations Cayce attributed to Jesus in his development as The Christ. The readings also suggest, as in the above, Enoch is representational of many in the earth at that time who had retained their spiritual and mental attunement and were not fully enmeshed in matter.

Man in his natural state, the readings have said, is soul, or spirit. Although not much is stated about Enoch in the Bible, the readings do give a few illuminating references. Enoch acted as a prophet who sought to give warnings about the impending Deluge.

Read the Scripture pertaining to the days of Noah, the law proclaimed by Enoch (found mostly in Jude and in the early chapters of Genesis).

       3653-1

. . . Enoch as he warned the people.

       3054-4

He bestowed blessings and recommendations as well as warnings.

Again it was manifested in Enoch, who oft sought to walk and talk with that divine influence; with the abilities . . . to find self in the varied realms of awareness, yet using the office of relationships as a channel through which blessings might come, as well as [through which] recommendations and warnings might be indicated to others.

       2072-4

The possible extent of Enoch’s activities is suggested through a tradition that links his name with Hermes. Hermes, for long ages, has been considered the architect of the Great Pyramid of Cheops. Manly Hall, in his Encyclopedia of Mosaic Heremetics, Rosicrucian Symbolic Philosophy, in his commentary of Hermes states that many investigators believe Hermes is the same entity whom the Jews refer to as Enoch.

Enoch, in reading 5749-14, is included as one of the major incarnations in the development of the soul who became the man Jesus. Occasional references in other readings indicate Jesus had an incarnation in Egypt under the name Hermes. Further information in the readings, parallel with traditions maintained by the Jews, will strengthen the view that these, Enoch and Hermes, are one and the same.

       Pyramid Builders

According to the Edgar Cayce readings on the prehistorical period of ancient Egypt, the high priest, Ra–Ta, and Hermes directed the construction of the Great Pyramid at Gizeh.

Then with Hermes and Ra . . . there began the building of that now called Gizeh . . . that was to be the Hall of the Initiates of that sometimes referred to as the White Brotherhood.

       5748-5

       (Q) What was the date of the actual beginning and ending of the construction of the Great Pyramid?

       (A) Was one hundred years in construction. Begun and completed in the period of Araaraatt’s time, with Hermes and Ra.

       (Q) What was the date B.C. of that period?

       (A) 10,490 to 10,390 before the Prince [of Peace] entered into Egypt.

       5748-6

The meaning of the word Enoch is initiator. The Edgar Cayce information on the Great Pyramid definitely states its purpose was to serve as a hall of initiation.

Another tradition which would link Hermes and Enoch is found in the Kaballah.

Josephus in his Antiquities of the Jews (quoted in the Kaballah) states there is a legend that Adam was forewarned of the Flood. Seth, Adam’s surviving son, erected two pillars on which he inscribed the keys to the science and philosophy taught by Adam. Enoch, who also knew of the impending Deluge, became concerned that the knowledge would be lost through this calamity. Therefore he constructed an underground temple with nine vaults. In the final vault were the two pillars upon which, in allegorical symbols, the secret teachings were preserved.

A similar activity is ascribed to Hermes by Edgar Cayce.

The readings show the constructor of the Great Pyramid, Hermes, designed a secret room known as The Hall of Records, which is as yet undiscovered. In this,
