Fold in equal portions
This symbol means that two parts should be the same width.
The example above calls for folding the paper into equal thirds.
Inside reverse fold
Fold the tip of the paper inward.
Outside reverse fold
Fold the tip of the paper outward.
Fold a fraction of a given distance
Bisect an angle
Two parts have the same angle.
Make a crease that bisects the angle—in this example, fold line B to line A.
Change your point of view
This symbol indicates that you should change your perspective before moving on to the next diagram.

Origami Animal Boxes from One Sheet
These are paper animals that you can make with a single sheet of origami paper. We’ll start by making the body by folding, unfolding, and making creases on the paper (precreasing).

A whale that swims with its little tail. We’re going to fold the body, and then fold its flippers and flukes.
Just keep swimming, just keep swimming….

Valley fold and unfold edge to edge both ways, but don’t crease the middle. Turn the paper over.
