Introduction
“Hey Garrett! Thanks so much for the presentation today; it really motivated me to write my book soon.”
“How soon?” I ask.
“Well, I’m not sure, but I really want to write a book, I think it will really help me become an authority in my market.”
“I totally agree! So when are you going to write this book?” I inquire, digging deeper.
“I hope to get started soon.”
I can’t tell you how many of these conversations I’ve had with people at events where I have spoken or after presentations I have given.
Here is another conversation I often have:
“Hey Garrett! Thanks so much for the presentation today; it really motivated me to write my book soon.”
“How soon?” I ask.
“I am hoping to get started tonight when I get home.”
“That’s amazing! So when do you plan on finishing the book?” I say.
“I want to finish the book by the end of November, do you think I can?”
“I know you can!” I respond.
I can almost guarantee that those people who aren’t quite sure when they’ll start still haven’t written a word. However, those who give specific, honest and committed answers will almost always finish the book that they want to write.
I know exactly who will succeed and who will not.
So what would this conversation sound like if you were the person talking with me?
If you’re reading this book then we can assume that you want to write a book, whether it be a novel or non-fiction. In Chapter 1 of this book you will better understand the importance of how your answers to certain questions will affect your success.
I still remember my first book “What Success Takes.” I had no idea what I was doing, no clue how to write and no concept as to the time and effort it would take to finish. All I knew is that I wanted to be an author and had something to share with others. Come to find out that was all I needed. I was committed and nothing could stop me.
There are many mind-boggling and complicated ways of writing a book at our disposal. This is not one of those. In fact, this book is perfect for someone who wants a simple, flexible and streamlined approach to start, write and complete a book fast.
This is not a get rich quick book, nor is it a book that guarantees your success. That is up to you. I can’t write your book for you.
This book is for those of us who want to write regardless of what others say about our ability to write.
