give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

      Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

      If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? Luke 11:1-3

      And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

      Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:

      And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.

      And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;

      Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

      And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.

      And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

      I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? Luke 18:1-8

      Chapter Seven: Thanks

       Sunday is the day I give Thanks:

      That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.

      LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth. Psalms 26:7-8

      Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. Psalms 30:4

      Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

      To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever. Psalms 30:11-12

      It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: Psalms 92:1

      Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. Psalms 95:2

      Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

      Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

      Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

      Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

      Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. Psalms 105:1-5

      I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

      Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence. Psalms 140:12-13

      Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God: Psalms 147:7

      And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:

      And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

      And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.

      And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,

      And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

      And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?

      There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

      And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole. Luke 17:12-19

      For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.

      And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:

      For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.

      And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

      Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. Luke 22:16-20

      And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to record, and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel: I Chronicles 16:4

       One of my Bible College Classmates kept a list of what he prayed for and it's answers.

       One church asked if there were any prayer requests, people stood up and said their prayer requests, it was recorded, when the prayer was answered, the people stood up and gave a testimony of God's faithfulness and it was also recorded, the people and the church grew.

      Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. Romans 16:4

      For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. I Thessalonians 2:13

      And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; I Timothy 1:12

      Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,

      And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:

      Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

      I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,

      Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; Philemon 1:1-5

      Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf. II Corinthians 1:11

      Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. Ephesians 5:4

      Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Colossians 1:12

      But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

      Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the
