show up as not pain at all: gastrointestinal upsets, mood shifts, fatigue, sleep disruption, depression, just as other mental/emotionally categorized things can show up as pain in our physical bodies. Pain is also extremely relative to our own stories and our stress. What feels like extreme pain to one person may only be a tickle to the next, just as what is stressful for some may not be at all phasing for others. Our perception of pain is highly interlinked with our perception of our world, our bodies, and our histories. Lorimer Mosely does an amazing job describing this in his Ted Talk, Why Things Hurt.

      Both physically, emotionally and energetically low back pain often relates to themes around support. Physically this means our ability to stabilize and functionally move our bodies in a way our nervous system perceives as safe and supportive. Emotionally and energetically means how our nervous system perceives safety in our environments, relationships, and interactions with the world around us3.
