Jason still held out hope that she’d leave the ranch behind, but there she was, perfectly at home in the kitchen with Rachel. But this time there was a big difference. Looking at Sam, Jason knew they were both in trouble with Jennifer’s new appearance. She was wearing well-fitted jeans, a plaid shirt, much like his own and cowboy boots. She was a cowboy’s dream.
Jason cleared his throat.
Sam broke the silence. “I see you did some shopping.”
“Yes, I did. I didn’t want to embarrass you all this afternoon…if I can ride with you again.”
She was still helping Rachel get lunch on the table. She moved around the kitchen, knowing instinctively where everything was as if she’d lived here all her life, which was even more surprising to Jason.
