but if Nikki knew what Tammy was about to do to her father, she would hate Tammy. Well, after dinner, they had ice cream, so Tammy took the pills and opened them and put them in Mr. Maxwell’s ice cream. She sat there and watched him eat all his ice cream; he even went back for seconds. Then Tammy wished she had not done it; she was afraid that someone would find out, but it was much too late. By then, Mr. Maxwell said he was going and take a shower and wait for Nikki’s mom to come in from work.

Mr. Maxwell took his shower and went into his bedroom and closed the door. Nikki’s mom came home about ten o’clock. She put the bags on the counter and asked, “Where was Steven?”

Nikki said, “Daddy is in the bedroom.”

Mrs. Maxwell put the things up she had in the bag, and then, she went into the bedroom. When suddenly, she screamed out, “Call the ambulance. Something is wrong with your father.”

The ambulance and the police arrived; the police officer asked a couple of questions, and then, Mr. Maxwell was taken to the hospital, but as they were leaving out the door with him, he looked at Tammy; she smiled and told him, “I hope you will be okay. But you won’t hurt me again.” But no one heard her; they were crying and upset. Tammy rode to the hospital with Nikki and her mother; they both were crying.

Nikki said, “I hope Daddy will be okay.”

After being at the hospital for about an hour, the doctor came out and said, “I’m sorry, Mrs. Maxwell, but he didn’t make it.” The doctor said he died from a heart attack. Tammy was happy; she felt he got exactly what he deserved. They had a nice funeral for him even though he didn’t deserve it.

Two weeks later, Nikki and her mother moved to North Carolina. Tammy was hurt because she didn’t want her to go. Tammy was losing her best friend, but she felt happy because she knew Mr. Maxwell would never be able to hurt anyone again. Tammy cried because Nikki was gone. Tammy’s mother told her everything was going to be fine, that she would see Nikki again one day and that Nikki’s dad was in heaven with the rest of the angels. But Tammy knew God didn’t let him in, not after what he did to her. After that, Tammy never spoke of Nikki or Mrs. Maxwell again.

      Chapter 2

When Tammy was thirteen years old, she was hanging out in clubs. Most of them were on Georgia Avenue in Washington, District of Columbia. So you know Tammy had it going on because by law, she wasn’t even old enough to be there, smoking, drinking, and even doing drugs. She was hanging out with grown people, some old enough to be her parents. But Tammy fit right in; the age wasn’t there but the maturity in mind and body was. She dated a lot of men. Once, she dated two guys that were brothers which caused a lot of problems. One of the brothers was very upset that he wanted to kill his own brother over her. But that didn’t bother Tammy at all; in fact, she felt damn good about it. Tammy knew she had it going on, being thirteen and having grown men fight over her, “I bet the girls in school never had that to happen with them.” So when Tammy went back to school on Monday, she had something to talk about, and it wasn’t just spending the night over a friend’s house. She was hanging out with grown men and had a boyfriend that was over twenty-one. Some of the girls didn’t believe Tammy when she would talk about her weekends, and some of the girls were jealous of her, which she didn’t care, but she brought pictures back to prove to them that she wasn’t lying.

As the years went by, Tammy had a lot of men in her life, no more boys for her, but she was never happy with just one sex partner. As time went on in the relationship, she became very bored with them, and she had to move on to new and more exciting things. On her eighteenth birthday, she went out to a club to celebrate the fact that she was a woman. Tammy had a couple of drinks to where she was feeling no pain. She met this guy named Fred; he was a very nice guy but a little strange. Tammy would see Fred every weekend when she would hang out uptown Northwest Washington, District of Columbia.

When Tammy was with Fred, that was when she finally found out what those girls in school were talking about all those years ago. Fred made her feel warm and tingly all over; he did things to Tammy that she never even dreamed of, things that she had only seen done in X-rated movies but had never experienced before. He went down on her and was licking her clit, and it felt so good to her. Tammy started feeling something warm on her butt, and her pussy was wet; she thought her period had come on.

Fred and Tammy dated for about eight months, and then, Tammy thought her world had come to an end after she got off from work; she was a receptionist at a doctor’s office in Lanham, Maryland. She wanted to surprise Fred since it was Valentine’s Day. She went by the store and brought some roses, strawberries, chocolate candy, and some champagne that was for dessert. And for dinner, Tammy brought two T-bone steaks, potatoes, corn on the cob, and everything that she needed for a salad. Tammy said that was all she needed from the store because everything else her baby needed, she had it for him. Then she was on her way to her baby’s place for a night of tasty food and a lot of love-making. It was no longer just sex; you see, Tammy loved Fred, and Fred loved her. Well, that’s what she thought until Tammy reached his apartment door, and she heard voices. One voice was Fred and the other was the voice of a woman, so Tammy sat the bags down, hoping that they wouldn’t hear her, and she took the key that Fred gave her to use when he wasn’t home to let herself in to his apartment. She left the bags outside the door, took her shoes off, and walked slowly to where the voices were coming from, the bedroom. She stood there listening to the man that she loved confess his love to another woman. Fred was telling her that he loved her and the baby that she was carrying, that he wanted nothing more but to make them a family. Tammy turned around with tears in her eyes and walked to the kitchen and got the largest knife she could find. She walked back to the bedroom door and busted in on them; they were having sex. Tammy asked him how he could do this to her. “How could you hurt me like this?” And that everything he told her was nothing but lies.

Then Tammy heard the woman ask Fred, “Who is this bitch and what is she doing here?”

Tammy told her that she was Fred’s woman, and she had her bitch. Fred told Tammy that they needed to talk. He said he was sorry, but he loved Tanisha and that she was carrying his baby. He told Tammy that she was a very nice girl, but he wasn’t in love with her, and if he led her on, he was sorry. Fred looked down at Tammy’s hand and saw she was holding a knife. He asked her what was she going to do with that knife? She told him, “If I can’t have you, then that bitch wouldn’t either.” Tammy stabbed Tanisha in the stomach seven times and told her here is your bitch.

Fred took the knife from Tammy, pushed her away from Tanisha’s dying body, and he cried holding her in his arms, telling her that he was sorry and that he loved her. He pleaded with her not to die, but she was already dead. Tammy told Fred that now they could be together. He turned around, got up off the floor, and smacked the shit out of her and told her that she would pay for this with the rest of her life.

Fred called the police, and Tammy was taken off to jail and charged with first degree murder. Tammy told Fred that she loved him and that she was sorry. She tried calling him from jail, but he wouldn’t accept her calls. The next time Tammy saw Fred was at her trial; he was a witness for the state. Her trial lasted about two weeks, and she was found guilty and sentenced to ten years in prison. She continued to call Fred, but still, he wouldn’t accept her calls; eventually, he had a block put on his phone. So Tammy wrote him a couple of letters, and they came back unopened. Fred finally wrote Tammy back. He called her every name in the book but a child of God. And he stated that if she didn’t leave him alone, he would have charges brought up against her. He told her that she was lower than dirt and that she took something from him that he could never get back, which was Tanisha and his unborn child.

Well, Tammy did what Fred asked of her; she left him alone for now. She must be on her best behavior so that she would have special privileges while she was incarcerated because she had to do
