MEMORANDUM
By. Otis H. Timmerman
Subject: INTRODUCTION TO MOTHER GHOUL TALES
The stories that you are about to read are best enjoyed late at night (especially if there is a full moon), and are quite effective when read as bedtime stories.
I have found that children are quite eager to get under the covers after they have enjoyed one of the following selections from “Mother Ghoul Tales”. They usually get under head and all!
Also you parents might try reading one selection each night to get yourself into a peaceful sleepy mood. Just cut of practically all the lights, and get into bed, and choose one of the following selections, and I’m dead sure that you will be yawning in no time at all. You won’t need any expensive sleeping pills ever again, and your sheep counting nights will be a thing of the past.
THE CREATING OF A WERWOLF
COMPANION: “What tales have been told
of the nights of full moon
When the “Werwolf” and “Vampires”
prowl forth from their gloom!
But you laugh at my story.
You do not believe,
So I must do my best
to help you perceive —
How they do it, how they stalk
and what is means to us all!
For they surely do walk
and, yes, some of them call!
Since you do not believe
then just come now with me,
and we’ll go to their gravesides
then I know you will see”.
VICTIM: So we’re off through the night
then soon we are near,
and sure as I’m living,
I started to hear,
Moans, and growls
stranger sounds than ever you hear,
And I realize that he’s right
as I begin to have fear!
Just then, I turned to say
“Please can’t we leave this foul place;”
My companion was gone,
and a Werwolf stared into my face!
I could do nothing but wait,
as he did what he chose!!
Then after he finished -
and allowed - I arose —
And I saw that my nails,
were now sharp as “claws”!!
Also my features were all changed
and my feet were as paws!! GROWL!!
THE END
RETRIBUTION
In the night I heard a tapping, tapping -
from under my bed a rap, rap, rapping!
I was startled, for the room was dark,
should I from my bed to the light embark?
I listened again to the rapping, rapping -
and then I heard “You’re above me napping;
You’re there -
and you hear my rapping, rapping!”
My heart was pounding, as I lay in wait!
for I knew that voice, and my limbs did shake!
I knew it, but she’s been dead these weeks,
It couldn’t be!! it couldn’t be - she speaks:
“You killed me, packed me up like this,
in this wood case, where I squirm and twist,
Where I tapped and scratched, till I made my way
to the surface of the ground, where above you lay”.
I lay there in the dark, dark room -
that seemed darker now, even damp, like tomb!!
To scared to move, or to venture away,
I pulled up the covers as I heard her say:
“I’m sliding now, from under your bed -
and reaching my hand, feel it on your head”!
That boney cold hand like the touch of the dead;
threw my heart into fits and my mind into dread!
Then the clouds moved away,
and the moon threw its light,
on her face -
as she hovered over me in the night!
Her skin was all hanging -
the bones were exposed,
Then she spoke from her mouth,
which was most decomposed!
“I have come to repay you,
to give you my case,
For tonight my dear husband,
you’ll be taking my place!!”
Then she took me and laid me
in the place that she knew;
Then she nailed the lid shut,
and quickly she strew -
Pounds and pounds of earth
on top of the case,
For
