      Beautiful lettering is a timeless practice.

      You can see it in Egyptian hieroglyphics,

      illuminated manuscripts from the Middle

      Ages, twenty-first-century tattoos, and art

      exhibits everywhere. And now you can see it

      on your own projects!

      Remember to match your colors to the

      theme of the design. You will be amazed at the

      unique and fun patterns you can create.

      to experiment with mixing

      and matching.

      Part of the fun of lettering is

      finding the right pens and

      markers to use. You can use

      pens as small as .005mm

      for tiny, tiny lines and dots.

      Calligraphy pens make lines

      from fine to bold. To add

      color to your lettering, there

      are rainbow collections of

      watercolor markers.

      Use this book at a table

      or desk where you can sit

      comfortably with your feet on

      Your delicate calligraphy pen

      won’t write well on a wooden

      sign. Practice on paper first,

      and when you’re ready,

      switch to chalk, paint, or your

      medium of choice.
