      FENNEC FOX

      – It mainly eats insects, small mammals, and birds.

      – The fennec has a life span of up to 14 years in captivity and about 10 years in the wild.

      – The fennec fox is so well-adapted to desert life that it can live without freestanding water.

      CHEETAH

      – It is the fastest land animal, capable of running at 80 to 128 km/h.

      – The lifespan of wild cheetahs is 14 to 15 years.

      – The cheetah has a total of 30 teeth.

      ADDAX

      – Only 500 Addax left in the wild.

      – Some addax live in herds which contain 5 – 20 individuals.

      – Addax live up to 20 years in the wild. The lion, leopard, and hyena are all natural predators of the addax. Addax will live up to 25 years in captivity.

      LIBYA

      COMMON GENET

      – Common genet can survive up to 8 years in the wild and around 13 years in the captivity.

      – They are known to eat everything from birds, bird eggs, rodents, reptiles, amphibians, centipedes and scorpions.

      – Its eyes are very big with vertical pupils.

      VAL ’ S GUNDI

      – Gundis live about 3 to 4 years in the wild.

      – Gundis live in all manner of rocky desert habitats: cliffs, hills, rocky outcrops. They are found between sea level and 2,500 meters in elevation.

      – Like many other desert animals, they do not drink, obtaining all the moisture they need from their food.

      NORTH AFRICAN OSTRICH

      – Ostriches are 2.74 m in height and up to 154 kilograms in weight.

      – Ostriches are the fast runners of any birds or other two-legged animal and can sprint at over 70 km/hr.

      – Ostriches can go without drinking for several days, using metabolic water and moisture in ingested roots, seeds and insects, but they enjoy liquid water and frequently take baths where it is available.

      GREATER FLAMINGO

      – Flamingo weigh up to 4 kg.

      – They usually feed with their head fully immersed in water and they can remain that way for up to 20 seconds.

      – Flamingos can often be seen standing on one leg, thought to be for the purpose of keeping the tucked-up leg warm within their feathers. Flamingos do stand on both legs on very hot days.

      – MOROCCO

      COMMON CHAMELEON

      – The average length of the common chameleon is 20—40 cm.

      – Chameleons have very good eyesight and they are able to detect small insects that are 5 to 10 meters away.

      – Chameleon can survive more than 10 years in the captivity.

      COMMON PIPISTRELLE

      – It can easily eat 3,000 insects a night.

      – Length: 3.5—4.5cm Wingspan: 20—23cm Weight: 3—8g Average lifespan: 4—5 years.

      – Common pipistrelles spend the day sleeping in buildings, but rely on trees when they emerge at night.

      NORTH AFRICAN HEDGEHOG

      – The expected lifespan would be between 3 and 7 years in the wild and 8 to 10 years in captivity.

      – Body length 20 and 25 cm long and weighing up to 650 grams.

      – They come out at night in search of an assortment of foods including frogs, worms, eggs, fallen fruit and other vegetation.

      SAHARAN POND TURTLE

      – This reptile usually measures 20 centimetres.

      – They can live more than 70 years.

      – Turtles of various sizes (from about 10 to 80 cm in length).

      SUDAN

      AARDWOLF

      – Aardwolf can survive 8 years in the wild and up to 15 years in captivity.

      – They can eat about 200,000 termites a night. They also eat other insects, small birds, eggs, mice, and carrion.

      – Weight is from 8 to 12 kg.
